MAT 123-SPRING 2010

Required materials: PRECALCULUS ESSENTIALS-THIRD edition by Blitzer and MAT 123 CALCULUS SUPPLEMENT.*Calculators will not be permitted on quizzes or exams this semester.

Grading and Syllabus:

Exam #1 (20%) on Thursday, 2/25/10 at 8:30PM (JAVITS 100). The exam will cover 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6 (tangent only), 4.7, and 5.5 from PRECALCULUS ESSENTIALS.

Exam #2 (20%) on Tuesday, 3/23/10 at 8:30PM (JAVITS 100,101,102). The exam will cover 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 2.6, and 1.10 from PRECALCULUS ESSENTIALS.

Final Exam (40%) on Monday, 5/17/10 at 8:15AM *MORNING* (JAVITS 100- LEC 2 and 3)(JAVITS 102- LEC 1 and ELC 90) . The exam will be cumulative! New material will consist of all sections from the MAT 123 SUPPLEMENT

Quizzes (10%) There will be a short quiz based on your homework every other week in recitation or ELC.

Recitation Participation (10%) Attending recitation with your homework is considered mandatory! Here are the homework problems for the course.
